Storyboard Artist

Born and raised in Belgium, Rudi Berden loved drawing, watching cartoons and reading comic books. He graduated at The Royal Academy of Ghent, Belgium in 1992.

He started his career in animation as a freelance layout artist working for Studios in Belgium and Germany.

In 1997 he had the opportunity to go work in Hollywood when he was hired to storyboard on the Rugrats for KlaskyCsupo. There he worked on shows like The Wild Thornberries, As Told By Ginger, Rocket Power and All grown Up. The studio closed in 2004 and Rudi found a job at The Walt Disney Television Company. He finished one season on The Replacements and got the opportunity to go work on The Simpsons. From there he moved to work on American Dad for 5 seasons.

In 2013 he was asked to work on a Pilot. The project, Miles From Tomorrowland was bought by Disney and he started working on his first CGI show in 2014.

When a Retake Director was needed, Rudi was asked to fill this position. In this role he was responsible for improving the animation at all steps from layout to delivery. He was able to track changes called for by multiple parties and accurately represent them to the animation team. Including supplemental artwork and precise timing notes.

In 2019 he started to work on the second season of Disenchantment as a Assistant Director for Roughdraft Studios. He briefly did a stint back at Disney in 2021 until a friend asked to him to help out on the new Beavis and Butt-Head movie, which he gladly accepted.

Roughdraft Studios hired him to work on the new HBO series Fired On Mars.

When that finished he moved back to storyboarding on Disenchantment for one episode until Futurama started season 8 where he once again worked as an Assistant Director.
